Sorry for the total lack of posting today everyone; I just got into Toronto for the film festival last night and have been running around like crazy all day between interviews and screenings. I’m doing a more low-key trip this year though, which means today should be the only time my posting gets disrupted. Now I’m off to a screening of JCVD (which has Jean-Claude Van Damme trying to go the NPH route), so expect some updates over the weekend.

Dan Aykroyd: Seth Rogen And “Ghostbusters 3″ Would Be A “Dream”

Oh hell yes. First a new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, now Ghostbusters 3? My inner child is doing backflips.

E!Online caught up with Dan Aykroyd at an event in Toronto earlier this week and asked him to comment on the rumors of a potential Ghostbusters 3. Cue the campaigning: the former Ray Stantz said that if he could “interest Seth [Rogen] and Judd [Apatow] to be a part of it, that would be a dream. Absolute dream.”

I’m guessing Aykroyd’s not the only one that would be a dream come true for. If I were Seth, I’d start freeing up my schedule ASAP.

Aaron Eckhart Endorses Angelina Jolie For Catwoman

A warning for everyone who hasn’t seen The Dark Knight yet (yes, all 5 of you): do not read on. MAJOR SPOILERS AHEAD.

Ok, now that that’s out of the way, it’s time to talk Batman villains (and yes, I know Chris Nolan hasn’t signed on for another sequel yet). There’s been a lot of speculation recently that maybe Two-Face wasn’t really, really dead, but Aaron Eckhart rained on that parade via AICN, saying: “No. I’m dead. I couldn’t even get the words out of my mouth. ‘Hey, Chris, am I–?’ ‘No. You’re dead. You’re dead.‘ ”

And while Eckhart agreed that, “it’d be easier than anything to bring [Two-Face] back… it’s like Chris said on the tour. He wasn’t thinking about the next movie when he made [THE DARK KNIGHT]. All the vegetables were in this stew. I think that this franchise has shown that it doesn’t have to bring back characters. I mean, there’s still Catwoman. I’ve heard Angelina Jolie really wants to do Catwoman; I think that’s a fantastic idea. I’ll be a happy audience member this time.”

Once a politician, always a politician, huh? Hey, I know Angelina as Catwoman’s got my vote too.

I know a lot of you like Keira Knightley for some reason, so in the spirit of giving the people what they want, here she is at the premiere of her new movie The Duchess. Personally, Keira doesn’t really do anything for me, but for those of you who prefer your women gross emaciated skeletons, knock yourselves out. And before you start sending me nasty emails, I’m just kidding, Keira’s the prettiest skeletion in all of Hollywood.

Eva Mendes is desperate for Cameron Diaz, huh? I think that’s something most of us can sympathize with. The two are apparently close friends but have yet to work together, leading Eva to say, “I am dying to work with Cameron. She is just a really good person and I would love, love, love to work with her.” Well Eva, I think I might have just the project; we start filming on location in my bedroom tomorrow night.

Are We Really Getting A Live-Action “Ninja Turtles” Reboot? Tubular!

Those rumblings about another live-action Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie just got a whole lot louder…

ComingSoon spotted a post by TMNT creator Kevin Eastman over on HeavyMetal.com confirming that a live-action Turtles reboot is in the works, saying:

“Yes, it is true. Although the CGI film did well enough to warrent a sequel, there has been much talk between Imagi and Warners to do a better “re-invention” (newest Hollywood buzzword) of the TMNT’s, in a live action film–like what was done with Batman. Back to basics, back to the origin and the intro of the Shredder, etc…there have been talks, trips to Northampton to talk to Mr Laird, and discussions with the original “first” TMNT film director Steve Barron to come back and do it right–but no official word yet…will keep you posted.”

The best evidence Eastman’s scoop is legit? The original post was gone by the morning in a classic “you said too much too soon” cover up. Don’t know about you, but I’m really psyched by this news. I grew up on the Turtles, and their 2007 CGI reincarnation didn’t exactly bring back happy memories - but a darker, live-action reboot? Cowabunga dude!

Welcome To The Jungle: Stephen Sommers To Take Over “Tarzan”

Warner Bros. has had a new Tarzan movie in the works since 2003, even getting Guillermo del Toro in talks to direct at one point. But now that del Toro’s got his hands full with The Hobbit, the WB’s turned to Stephen Sommers, according to Variety. Great…

Sommers will be teaming with his G.I. Joe collaborator, Stuart Beattie, to write the script for the Tarzan update. And as much as I want to, it’s probably a little too early to kill the WB over tabbing Sommers to direct, well, anything. Once we get to see if G.I. Joe really is as bad as it looks, you’re welcome to snipe away. Until then, let’s hear it: who would you like to see sporting Tarzan’s loincloth?

Natalie Portman Pictures For You “Birdwatchers”

You know, while watching this trailer for Labor Pains, I realized just how lame movie trailers are going to sound now that the legendary Don LaFontaine has passed away, and it made me sad. Then I realized just how lame Lindsay Lohan’s career is going to be now that she’s trying to revamp her image, and it made me sad too. Damn, I need something to cheer me up. Where’s the old Lindsay when you need her?

I’m starting to get really excited for Kevin Smith’s Zack and Miri Make a Porno. I think it could be his funniest movie in years, and this new red-band trailer sure backs that theory up (and makes me forget all about that uber-lame “teaser” from a while back). Oh, and if you haven’t gotten on the Craig Robinson bandwagon yet, seats are still available. The guy that was so damn funny in Pineapple Express and The Office gets a much larger supporting role in Zack and Miri, and it looks like he makes the most of it.
